HIREVUE FLASHBACK GAME PRACTICE
The HireVue Flashback game is a memory-based assessment where you are presented with a sequence of shapes. Your task is to determine if the shape currently on the screen matches a shape that appeared a specific number of steps earlier in the sequence (an 'n-back' task).

Remember the first pattern, compare it with the second, and make an accurate Match or No Match decision.
A near-match can reuse several obvious features while changing one important detail. Reliable decisions come from checking the full arrangement rather than relying on familiarity alone.
This practice focuses on short-term visual memory, exact pattern comparison, attention, and controlled decisions under time pressure. These are practice targets, not official employer score categories.
Compare the one-sample demo, full timed practice, and supported independent result summary.
The free demo shows one image to remember and one image to compare. You choose Match or No Match and receive brief feedback. Demo activity is not saved to your practice history.
Premium practice uses a three-minute round with randomized image pairs. Each comparison begins with a new image to memorize, so you can apply the same routine repeatedly under time pressure.
The result summary reports only performance inside this practice product. It is not a HireVue score, does not reveal an employer's scoring model, and cannot predict a hiring decision.
Summarize the first image with two or three distinctive features, such as red triangle above two blue circles. Keep the label short enough to retain until the comparison appears.
Check element count, color, position, angle, and internal relationships in a consistent order. A fixed routine reduces missed changes and repeated scanning.
Do not choose Match because the images share one prominent color or object. Confirm that the complete arrangement remains the same.
Treat each answer as the end of one pair. Let the result go and focus on the next image instead of carrying uncertainty into a new comparison.
The result summary reports only activity from this independent practice. It is not an official HireVue score and cannot predict an employer decision.
The percentage of submitted Match or No Match comparisons answered correctly.
Correct comparisons identify whether the two images match. Incorrect comparisons include choosing Match for a changed image or No Match for an identical pair.
The total number of image pairs answered before the full-practice timer ended. Review this together with accuracy rather than treating volume alone as success.
The average time between the comparison image becoming answerable and your Match or No Match selection.

Practice the HireVue Shapedance gameFlashback is a visual-memory comparison task. You remember one abstract pattern, view a second pattern, and decide whether the two images match.
Study the first image, remember a few distinctive features, compare the second image with the first, and choose Match or No Match.
This independent practice displays the first image for three seconds before showing the comparison image. An employer's assessment version may differ.
Choose Match only when the complete second pattern is the same as the first. Sharing one color or shape is not enough when another part of the arrangement has changed.
The practice briefly displays Correct or Incorrect, then begins the next image pair.
The free experience on this page is one interactive sample. Premium practice includes a three-minute timed round. An employer's assessment package and product version may differ.
