Methodology

How HireVueGames develops practice games, checks factual claims, and communicates uncertainty.

This page explains how HireVueGames develops and reviews its practice experiences and supporting guides.

Scope

Our methodology applies to content and practice tools created by HireVueGames. It does not describe an employer's private assessment configuration or an official scoring model.

How we develop and test practice games

For each practice game, we check the behavior that users can directly experience:

  • Instructions, inputs, rules, timing, and phase transitions
  • Completion states and the result summaries produced by our own implementation
  • Consistency between the live practice experience and the claims made on its page

These checks establish how the HireVueGames practice tool works. They do not establish how a separate, official assessment is configured or scored.

How we verify factual claims

When a guide makes a factual claim about an external product or assessment format, we prefer publicly available primary material. We distinguish those facts from observations about our own implementation and from editorial guidance. If reliable public evidence is limited, the wording should reflect that uncertainty rather than present an inference as a confirmed fact.

Evidence levels

  1. Public primary sources: material published by the organization responsible for the product or assessment.
  2. Direct product observation: behavior that can be reproduced in a HireVueGames practice experience.
  3. Editorial interpretation: practical explanations or preparation suggestions derived from the available evidence and clearly presented as guidance, not official scoring rules.

Dates and labels

  • Published records the original publication date when available.
  • Updated records a meaningful revision to the page.
  • Sources checked appears only when the page's external sources were actually rechecked on that date.

We do not add a source-check date to a page merely because it was reformatted, translated, or processed in bulk.

Limits

HireVueGames uses its own interfaces, questions, and result summaries. We do not have access to official candidate data, employer settings, or proprietary scoring models. Questions about this methodology can be sent to support@hirevuegames.com.
